Changing AOL SettingsIn an attempt to speed up your online experience, AOL has a default setting that compresses a website's images. The user unknowingly is subject to a much poorer quality website than the designer intended - blurry, jaggy photos, blotchy, muddy color, etc. To change this setting in AOL and see things as designed:
Also AOL has stored images in its "cache" as another way to speed up your dial-up experience. Anytime you revisit a site, AOL refers to the cache instead of downloading the new, original content. This means that you are very likely viewing old content. You can refresh (or reload) the screen by clicking the circular arrow icon at the top left of your AOL window, or by hitting F5 on your PC. Or, to clear your cache, follow the above instructions and click the button that lets you delete your temporary internet files. This will cause AOL to seek out the most recent content, not an outdated page. AOL explanation |
